Grab the slide assembly with one hand, and while maintaining control of the recoil spring, unscrew and remove the guide rod from the front of the slide using the 5\/32 hex wrench we used to loosen it earlier. Be careful, as the recoil spring will be under some tension. Lift and remove the guide rod head and recoil spring from the slide and spring plug.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><picture loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-34906\"><source
